Frequently Asked Questions

Transparency is the first step towards a successful therapeutic alliance. We have gathered the most common questions about Integrative Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis and how our consultations work, so you can begin your process with total clarity, confidence and security.

Understanding the Approach

What is Integrative Therapy?

Integrative Therapy is a personalised clinical approach where the method adapts to the patient, not the other way around. Grounded in the principles of the Handbook of Psychotherapy Integration, instead of using a single rigid technique, we combine cognitive, emotional and behavioural tools to create a tailored plan to your needs, your pace and your life story.

What is Clinical Hypnosis and what is it for?

Recognised by the American Psychological Association (APA - Division 30), Clinical Hypnosis is not magic, but rather a state of absolute focus and deep relaxation (therapeutic trance). In this natural state, we bypass the "critical factor" of the conscious mind and access the subconscious directly. Comparative clinical studies reveal overwhelming results: while conventional psychotherapy shows a recovery rate of around 72% after 22 sessions, Clinical Hypnosis achieves a recovery rate of 93% in just 6 sessions (Barrios, 1970). It is the ideal approach for treating the emotional root of phobias, anxiety, trauma, grief, or for reprogramming habits.

Why combine Integrative Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis?

Because it is the most powerful clinical formula for achieving lasting results. Leading meta-analyses have shown that adding Clinical Hypnosis to psychotherapeutic protocols substantially increases treatment efficacy. Therapy helps you rationally understand the problem, while Clinical Hypnosis reprograms the pain in the subconscious.

What is the difference between Individual Therapy and Protocols?

Individual Therapy focuses on continuous Integrative Therapy to treat broad emotional issues (e.g., anxiety, burnout, trauma). The pace follows your neurological stabilisation. Intervention Protocols (Gastric Band or Smoking Cessation) are programmes with a defined number of sessions, focused on a specific behavioural goal through rapid neuroplasticity.

Demystifying Clinical Hypnosis

Myths about Clinical Hypnosis: Is it dangerous? Will I lose control?

Clinical Hypnosis is 100% safe. During the process, you maintain absolute control. Your self-preservation instinct remains active, so you will never do anything against your ethical or moral principles. It is not a "truth serum" and there is no risk of getting "stuck" in trance — you can open your eyes and leave that state whenever you wish.

I'm taking psychiatric medication. Can I do Clinical Hypnosis?

Yes, absolutely. Clinical Hypnosis and Integrative Therapy are perfectly complementary to psychiatric medication (such as antidepressants or anxiolytics) and do not interfere in any way with their biochemical action. In fact, they are an excellent ally. By acting directly on the emotional root, they allow clinical advances to be faster and more comfortable for patients in distress, accelerating recovery while we work in full respect and harmony with your current medical plan.

Will I fall asleep or forget what happened during Clinical Hypnosis?

No. Neuroimaging studies confirm that during Hypnosis, the brain enters Alpha and Theta brainwave frequencies. These waves are associated with deep relaxation and hyperfocus, but keep consciousness perfectly active. You may remember everything that was worked on, feeling incredibly relaxed.

What happens if the internet drops during an online Clinical Hypnosis session?

There is no danger whatsoever. If the connection drops and you stop hearing the therapist's voice, your brain notices the absence of stimulus immediately. The natural result is that the therapeutic trance dissipates and you will open your eyes within moments, feeling awake and refreshed.

What if I prefer not to use Clinical Hypnosis?

The answer is simple: the plan adapts to you. Clinical Hypnosis is a fantastic tool for accelerating results, but it is not an obligation. If you feel more comfortable carrying out your treatment exclusively through Integrative Therapy, that is perfectly valid and effective. Our space is one of total respect for your preferences, and our role is to guide the process in the way that brings you the greatest security and peace of mind.

The Clinical Process and Logistics

How does the first online consultation work?

Before the session, you will receive a secure link to access the video call. The first consultation (Anamnesis) is a crucial moment of clinical assessment where we map your history, understand your emotional needs and define, together and with full transparency, the goals and intervention plan.

Are online consultations as effective as in-person ones?

Yes. A comprehensive meta-analysis published in the Journal of Technology in Human Services (Barak et al., 2008) confirms that the clinical efficacy of online therapy is statistically equivalent to in-person therapy, with the added benefit of the patient being in the comfort and safety of their own home.

How often will I need to have sessions?

The initial protocol prescribes one session per week for the first 4 sessions, essential for stabilising the nervous system. From the 4th session onwards, we can begin to space out appointments (e.g., fortnightly) so you can integrate the changes into your daily life.

Why are sessions 75 minutes instead of the usual 50?

The standard 50-minute slot often forces sessions to end exactly when you start touching the real wound. Our 75-minute sessions allow us to do the emotional assessment and apply the intervention techniques without you feeling rushed, giving us the depth needed for real, lasting results. You always finish in a state of deep calm.

How soon will I start noticing results?

Although there are no mathematical guarantees in mental health, our method was designed to be effective and accelerated. Many patients report significant anxiety relief, greater mental clarity and behavioural changes after just the first session.

What happens if I need to cancel?

We understand that unexpected things happen. To ensure respect for all patients' time, we ask that any changes be communicated with a minimum of 24 hours' notice.

Is my data protected?

Absolutely. All sessions are conducted on secure platforms with end-to-end encryption. We strictly comply with GDPR regulations and the professional confidentiality code of ethics.

Couples Therapy

What is the success rate of Couples Therapy? Does it really work?

Yes, science confirms its effectiveness. Clinical studies based on integrative approaches (such as Emotionally Focused Therapy) show that around 70% to 75% of couples recover from relational wear, and approximately 90% show significant improvements in their communication dynamics (Johnson et al., 1999). The success of the process always depends on one crucial factor: the mutual commitment of both partners to actively participate in change.

Is it possible to save the relationship and rebuild trust after infidelity?

Infidelity creates a deep attachment trauma and is statistically one of the main reasons for seeking therapy. However, recovery is scientifically possible. Clinical studies on "attachment injuries" (Makinen & Johnson, 2006) show that more than 63% of couples manage to heal from the trauma of infidelity through a structured therapeutic process. Couples who complete this deep work frequently report levels of intimacy, empathy and honesty greater than those experienced before the crisis.

What if one of us has already decided they want to separate?

Couples Therapy is not exclusively for reconciliation. When separation is the inevitable or chosen path, therapy acts as a space for neutral clinical mediation (Separation Therapy). The goal becomes a "healthy uncoupling", ensuring peaceful communication, processing the grief of the relationship and preserving mutual respect — something especially critical and beneficial when children are involved.

Why are Couples Therapy sessions 90 minutes long?

90 minutes ensure that both partners have the time and space to express themselves without rush, with a neutral therapist mediating communication. It is the clinically appropriate length to deactivate 'attack and defence' patterns and build, within the same session, real bridges of understanding.

Direct Protocols: Gastric Band & Smoking Cessation

Is it really possible to quit smoking in just 2 sessions of Clinical Hypnosis?

Yes. Structured Clinical Hypnosis protocols for smoking cessation show clinical success rates above 90%, in line with protocols such as the University of Washington's. This is possible because the intervention does not depend on conscious willpower alone; it acts directly on the neurological root of the addiction, eliminating the emotional trigger and the anxiety associated with nicotine withdrawal without causing painful withdrawal symptoms.

Will I gain weight or have anxiety attacks if I quit smoking with this method?

No. By reprogramming the emotional dependency and the automatic behaviour, we eliminate the psychological trigger of the cigarette, bypassing the usual anxiety of nicotine withdrawal. Our approach is focused on avoiding withdrawal syndrome and the typical weight gain.

Does Hypnosis for quitting smoking work better than patches or lozenges?

Scientific evidence shows this is the most effective non-medical intervention, around 3x more effective than nicotine patches or lozenges at maintaining results long-term.

How does the Hypnotic Gastric Band timeline work?

It is an 8-week clinical programme grounded in neuroscience. Phase 1 — The 21-Day Cycle (Neuroplasticity): based on Hebb's Law, we create new neural pathways and disable emotional hunger. Phase 2 — The Symbolic Intervention: deep hypnosis session where the brain assumes the virtual placement of the gastric band, physically reducing the sensation of hunger. Phase 3 — Consolidation and Reassessment: close follow-up with a guaranteed reassessment at 6 months.

Is the Hypnotic Gastric Band safe? Are there side effects?

It is 100% safe and free of physical side effects. Because it is a mental, non-invasive procedure, there are no incisions, anaesthetics, recovery time or infection risks. Evidence shows the Hypnotic Gastric Band more than doubles weight loss, with a 146-147% increase in long-term efficacy.

Are these protocols just as effective online as in-person?

Yes, the efficacy is exactly the same. In fact, being in the comfort, safety and privacy of your own home often allows you to reach an even faster and deeper state of relaxation and inward focus, optimising the neurological results of the protocol.
